The Order of the Engineer is an independent organization whose purpose is to foster a feeling of pride in and dedication to the engineering profession.   During the ceremony, each inductee takes a solemn obligation to uphold devotion to the standards and the dignity of the engineering profession. The obligation is a creed similar to the oath attributed to Hippocrates that is commonly taken by medical graduates and which sets forth an ethical code. The obligation likewise contains parts of the canon of ethics of major engineering societies. The Order promotes honesty and integrity, and recognizes that today’s engineers are dependent on their predecessors for their skills. A stainless steel ring is worn on the little finger of the working hand to symbolize acceptance of the obligation.

KSPE/NSPE members who wear the ring help raise awareness of the concepts of licensure and professionalism. This awareness is extended to recent engineering graduates, to non-KSPE/NSPE members, and to the general public. Promoting the Order of the Engineer provides an opportunity for NSPE and its state partners to grow our membership. A strong membership base helps promote and protect the engineering license. You are invited to join in this important promotion of the licensed engineer. Please sign up to take the oath to serve humanity by making the best use of earth’s precious wealth!

There is a $20 one time fee to sign up for Order of the Engineer to cover the cost of the ring.

No cancellations will be accepted after May 26 due to hotel guarantee deadlines.

If you are interested in becoming a Sponsor or Vendor, please Click Here or contact Brandy Johnson at the KSPE office at 785.233.2121 or email

Following the Conference join us for an in depth tour of the WaterOne Wolcott Water Treatment Plant. This tour involves the new Phase V Water Treatment Plant located approximately 1/4 mile south of the intersection of Sam Clark Lane and Kansas Highway 5 in Kansas City, Kansas. The remotely monitored and controlled facility includes state-of-the art technology throughout the treatment stages. The Wolcott Plant is considered a model for future water treatment plants across the country and has been toured by municipal organizations around the country. To further WaterOne’s sustainable initiatives, construction is currently taking place to provide backup power generation via natural gas generators. There is a $5.00 charge for the tour. A box lunch will be provided. Attendees must bring a copy of their driver’s license to participate.

We will make every effort to meet your special needs.  Please contact Brandy Johnson at the KSPE office at 785.233.2121 to request special accommodations.

All Conference registrants are invited to play in the KSPE four-person scramble golf tournament on Wednesday, June 8, at Prairie Highlands Golf Course, 14695 S. Iverness, Olathe, KS 66061.
